About us

The delta, our origins

The events that intertwine and contribute to the birth of this company are closely linked to the history of the Venetian territory and Paolo’s family. Here he saw the choices of strong women take charge of the fate of a family.

MOVED BY THE DESIRE TO CREATE

As a young boy he would wander around his parents’restaurant and personally bring the partron their bills just so he would receive the tips. Then immediately he headed proceed to the parking lot where he also cleaned the windows of the customers’ cars for the same reason. We can rightlyfully say that the spirit of initiative which still characterizes him today emerged from an early age. His adolescence felt the need to create, to build, to commercialize. A volcano of ideas ready to burst, a peculiarity that still distinguishes him.

Today at the end of their experience in the restaurant, his parents decided to venture into making work gloves and to do this they purchased a shear and sewing machines. It was the 1980s and the young Paolo had an idea that we would now call“recycling” therefore also ecological. At that time a particular type of shearling jacket was very popular.

The realization of this garment involved the accumulation of numerous left over high quality cuttings of sheepskin. Zanellato had the brilliant idea of collecting these pieces of leather and to make street gloves adding a professional flavor. In a garage, with his parents, he began this business venture.

This initiative gave him many satisfactions.

In fact a retailer in Vicenza commissioned him an important
order and from there others followed. He was latter contacted by the designer of Henry Cottons who asked him to collaborate with the company.

Paolo, pleasantly surprised, obviously took on the challenge and that was the steppingstone for his career. In addition to sheepskin gloves, he also made leather gloves before introducing the colourful “hipster” ones coordinating with Henry cottons jackets and other prestigious brands. From there the production of leather belts, bags, and jackets was fast.

His adventure in the world of fashion expanded so quickly to the point of having leave his brother to take over running the company already consolidated (while still continuing to collaborate) in order to open, in the heart of down town Vicenza, a few made-to-measure leather clothing and accessories shops. But Paolo Zanellato’s creative frenzy never sleeps.

Recently, for example, a new idea persuaded him to make work aprons inspired by fashion. As usual, it seems to be a winning hunch.
